A crazed gunman opened fire on the unsuspecting driver and passenger of a BMW on the 10 freeway in Los Angeles, seriously wounding them. According to Mercury News the gunman was in a passing car on Interstate 10 when he shot at the BMW at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Baldwin Park area east of Los Angeles. Apparently the BMW crashed at high speed into the concrete center divider while the gunman sped off into the night.
The victims of the shootout and ensuing car crash were listed in critical and serious condition as paramedics who arrived on the scene whisked them off to the emergency room at a nearby hospital. Police are investigating the shooting and are not yet sure if it was gang related or the result of road rage.The westbound lanes of the highway were shut down to allow for the LAPD’s crime scene investigators to collect bullet casing and other evidence.
