A fiery big rig truck crash on the 5 freeway claimed 3 lives after several vehicles collided. According to the Daily Democrat, the semi-truck accident occurred at 12:35pm when 5 cars collided on the southbound side of the freeway. Witnesses reported that two vehicles were in the center median, which caused a grass fire in the center median. Two other vehicles were burning on the right shoulder next to the semi-truck, which flipped onto its side. Firefighters battled the flames for 20 minutes to get extinguish the fire, which was visible from miles away as smoke lifted high into the air.
Paramedics rushed 7 injured motorists to a local hospital for treatment and police officers closed the 5 freeway completely. Accident investigators are looking into the cause of this massive trucking crash.
