Multiple news agencies have revealed recently that an accident that took place on the 60 Freeway claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy.
According to the series of official accident reports issued by the authorities, a 13-year-old boy from Santa Monica was outside of his mother’s stopped vehicle while she attempted to find out what was wrong with their Toyota Corolla that had become unresponsive. While the driver and the 13-year-old boy stood outside of the vehicle, a 10-year-old remained sitting in the back seat of the unresponsive car.
According to the California Highway Patrol troopers who responded to the scene, a Honda Civic traveling on the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway suddenly veered off the road, crashed into the stopped car and both victims standing outside of the vehicle.
The 10-year-old boy who was inside of the Corolla sustained moderate injuries while the mother sustained serious injuries. The 13-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene.
The Honda Civic driver was later arrested. Further details regarding this crash were not immediately available.
