The official recall announcement has revealed that Natural Tropic and Jonlly Fruit products may contain a mild derivative, which is not listed as an ingredient in the product’s label. Items affected by this recall are: Acerola (Wild Cherry), Parcha (Passion Fruit), China (Orange), Uva (Grape), Limón (Lemon), Fruta (Fruit Punch), Guava-Piña (Guava-Pineapple),Toronja (Grapefruit), Guanábana (Soursop), Mandarin (Mandarina), China Light (Orange-Light) and Chinia-Xanahoria (Orange-Carrot). According to the information released in the recall announcement issued by the Food and Drug Administration, consumers with allergies to milk who are unaware of the presence of undeclared allergens could experience serious illnesses and to avoid this problem, the company is recalling all units of the potentially harmful beverages.
The recall was made necessary after the Food and Drug Administration conducted a test on a random sample of these juices. Milk traces were found although the product’s label did not state the presence of the allergen.
The recalled juices were sold in 1-gallon plastic containers and in 64 oz. bottles.
