According to the several news agencies reporting recall announcements, BMW has recently issued a recall statement regarding all units of the 2012 X5 vehicles over a possible machining error that could pose a fire risk.
The recall statement primarily published by inspectors at the National Highway Traffic Safety’s website revealed that these vehicles were equipped with a steering gear surface that may have not been properly machined during the vehicle’s assembly. This problem may lead to a leakage, the power fluid could flow from the crack and the risk of an engine compartment fire could increase.
To prevent accidents and ensure vehicle owners are always safe, the carmaker BMW has issued this recall along the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and is now urging X5 owners to schedule a visit to an authorized dealer to have this problem eradicated promptly.
Hopefully, this recall campaign can be successful and these defective vehicles are repaired before any injuries are reported.
Too often incidents occur and injuries are reported before any recall announcements are released. I’m glad the company was able to address this issue before any accident happened. Any personal injury lawyer could tell you that it’s terribly saddening to learn that a recalled and defective vehicle was responsible for a deadly crash.
I encourage you to have this issue promptly fixed before anybody is injured.
