Multiple cargo trailers used across the Nation are being recalled over possible defective brake systems.
According to several news agencies covering recall alerts, certain units of the 2011 BC-1010 cargo trailers manufactured and distributed by Butler Trailers have been recalled since these vehicles were equipped with a brake actuator pump that might have been improperly heat-treated during the item’s assembly. Since these potentially hazardous brake components are crucial to the safety of drivers and passengers, all units of vehicles equipped with defective Dexter brake actuator pumps are being recalled.
According to the official recall statement recently issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in case the brakes wear out prematurely as a result of the actuator pump’s lack of heat treatment, recalled trailer owners could experience a certain difficulty in braking, which could eventually lead to a crash.
The company responsible for the manufacturing of the faulty brake systems has issued a statement claiming that all affected trailer owners should be directed to an authorized Dexter dealer so these recalled brake actuator pumps are promptly replaced for fully functional ones.
Recalled trailer owners are urged to act fast and to contact the manufacturer so any inquiries or doubts can be addressed to them at once. Act fast and ensure your safety by having any mechanical failure repaired so accidents can be avoided in the future.
