A car collided with a power pole late Tuesday morning in Petaluma, which caused the power lines to collapse and start many smaller fires, reported a California Highway Patrol officer. The incident happened on Valley Ford Road, west of Fallon Road, close to the U.S. Coast Guard training center around 11am. Valley Ford Road was closed at 11:24am.
The CHP says the downed power lines caused small fires that burned through the power pole and spread through the ditch. All fires were put out by 1pm and the road was reopened around then, said the CHP. According to news reports, the driver who hit the power pole fled from the scene of the accident immediately. He was driving a brown Toyota Camry.
I’m glad no one was hurt more seriously in the collision with the power pole and I hope authorities find the driver who crashed into the power pole. If you or a loved one are hurt in a crash caused by negligence, you can discuss your case with a car accident lawyer Fresno.
