According to multiple news agencies, a recall alert has been issued for several units of carrot cake cupcakes produced and distributed by Whole Foods Market.
The official recall statement recently issued by officials from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has revealed that the product sold in a six-units package was produced with walnuts, which are not mentioned in the product’s label. According to the federal agency, people with highly dangerous allergies to walnuts could run the risk of experiencing threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product unaware of the presence of the undeclared allergen.
The company has discovered the traces of undeclared walnuts only in the carrot cupcakes, although Whole Foods Markets sell several different flavors of cupcakes in the same clear, plastic clamshell containers. The firm has stated in an official announcement that only the carrot cupcakes are affected and corrections are being conducted to avoid similar recalls in the future.
To avoid any illnesses, or life-threatening allergic or adverse reactions, the company has urged consumers to return any remaining sample of these carrot cupcake packages to the retailer of purchase right away for a full refund.
Consumers with any left overs of this recalled food item in their possession can contact the firm to ask more details regarding this recall.
