Metrolink officials are claiming that their former train operator is not taking responsibility for the 2008 Los Angeles commuter train crash by refusing to contribute to the victim’s compensation fund. The crash killed 25 people and injured nearly 100. A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian Thursday morning in Riverside between the downtown and La Sierra stations, report news sources. The accident, which was reported at 5:41 a.m., occurred along the 91 line when train 701 struck the man near Ivy Street and Monterey Road, roughly two miles west of the Metrolink station in downtown Riverside.
