According to several news agencies covering multiple recall news, Britax Child Safety Inc. is recalling several models of child-restraining seats. This recall was issued in light of the discovery certain models were manufactured with a harness adjuster that could easily come detached from the seat shell, which could pose a serious risk to a child.
The official announcement released by the company through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that a child could potentially suffer greatly in case of a crash, since the restraining seat could fail and leave the child unprotected.
Britax has released a recall list with the following child restraining seat models: Chaperone E9L692K (red), Chaperone E9L692L, Chaperone E9L692J BLK/SIL and Chaperone E9L692M (green).
According to the federal agency, the company is preparing repair kits to all the 14,220 units affected. At this moment, Britax is contacting all recalled child seat owners.
As a Fresno personal injury lawyer, consumer safety is my number priority, especially if it involves the safety of children. I urge parents in California to refrain from using these recalled child-restraining seats until the company has shipped you the repair kit. Keep it in mind that you could be putting the lives of your loved ones in danger if you simply ignore to respond to a recall alert.
