News reports indicate that the California Highway Patrol responded to multiple reports of a pedestrian accident on a freeway interchange Thursday night in Orange.
According to authorities, CHP officers responded to a pedestrian being allegedly struck by a vehicle on the freeway interchange between westbound Highway 22 and northbound Highway 57 around 8:45pm Thursday. However, upon arrival, officers were unable to confirm whether a pedestrian was struck at that location.
The CHP is aware that an individual was taken to UCI Medical Center with an unknown amount of injuries. They have not been able to determine where that individual had been picked up by emergency crews.
Witnesses that reported the pedestrian accident said that there was one vehicle involved in the accident. Officers blocked the No.4 lane of westbound Highway 22, just east of Highway 57, for about an hour after the incident was reported.
