The Nation-wide safety campaign is back starting this Memorial Day Weekend. It runs until June 6th (however you should always buckle up before heading out on the road.)
What is “Click it or Ticket”? you ask. It’s a safety campaign that aims to increase people’s use of seat belts while driving. With increased driving this coming Memorial Day weekend it’s important to take those extra safety precautions. Anytime you have more cars on the road you increase the chances of car accidents happening.
The “Click it or Ticket” campaigns have had incredible success in other states across America. In fact Washington State is said to have one of the highest rates of drivers who wear their seat belts, approximately 96.5%.
I’ve seen many car accidents where the drivers didn’t have their seat belt on and the results are never pretty. So please make sure to wear your seat belt this holiday weekend (and every day for that matter.)
Should you forget or decide not to wear your seat belt you can expect a nice $142 fine. And if you have children under 16 that aren’t buckled in you can look forward to a $445 dent in your bank account. (for a first time offense)
