Recent news articles have revealed that the company Big Lots has issued a recall for at least 70,500 units of portable oscillating space heaters and regular portable space heaters over a possible overheating issue that could lead to an electric shock or even a fire.
According to several news agencies, the 1500 watt Climate Keeper ceramic heaters manufactured by Big Lots were equipped with a fan and a wire mesh panel that have reportedly overheated and melted in the past. The firm has revealed that four complaints related to incidents associated with this product have been reported, however, incidents did not result in any injuries.
At this moment, the company is issuing a recall announcement for all units of these portable items to prevent incidents of fire or property damage from being reported in the future. Consumers with the Climate Keeper ceramic heaters that come with the model numbers #FH107A and #PTC-902T should contact Big Lots to schedule a visit so you may return the device to the retailer for a full refund.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the company has decided to issue this recall announcement promptly after receiving the reports voluntarily. Questions and concerns related to this product and the recall announcement should be addressed to the retailer and manufacturer Big Lots right away.
Hopefully, this recall campaign is successful and the recalled products are returned to the place of purchase before anybody is injured.
