Two boys were injured in a car crash near Sutter Buttes in an accident which police say alcohol was a factor. A 25-year-old from Yuba City was driving a Chevrolet pickup when it overturned on Pass Road. His 11-year-old brother was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital then released. The other passenger, a friend of the 11-year-old, sustained head injuries in the crash and was brought to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento by helicopter.
According to news reports, the collision occurred when he was driving east on Pass Road. He started driving on a sharp, left downhill curve at about 25mph over the speed limit. The driver found himself on the graveled shoulder of the road and over-corrected, skidding his car and landing on the roof. At least one of the two boys wasn’t wearing his seat belt. The California Highway Patrol plan to arrest him at the hospital on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment. Two 12-packs of Bud Light were found at the scene of the accident, one filled with empty cans.
I’m glad no one was hurt more severely in this crash. If you or a loved one were harmed due to another driver’s negligence, discuss your case with a car accident attorney in Fresno.
