An 18-year-old collided with a semi-truck near Lindsay carrying a load of 80,000 pounds of oranges. Just prior to 1pm, an 18-year-old female driving a Volkswagen Passat turned onto Road 196. The truck driver was going north on Road 196 when she made the turn, and was not able to stop in time and hit her at full speed. The Passat came to a stop in a grove of oranges, and hit one of the trees. According to news reports, two of her passengers were also injured and brought to a Fresno hospital.
“There is a very sad lesson here. Don’t pull out in front of a vehicle, especially when surrounded by orange trees that you cannot see beyond,” said CHP officer Tommy Cribbs. “People need to make sure it’s safe and look both ways.” The medical conditions of all the people hurt inside the car are not known yet. Officers determined at least one of the people inside the vehicle is a student since they found several textbooks in the vehicle. my thoughts are with the family members during this time and I hope everyone who was injured heals quickly. If you or a loved one were injured due to a reckless driver, discuss your case with a car accident lawyer Fresno who can assess your case.
