A collision northbound on Highway 101, close to Sausalito, sent a San Francisco woman to the hospital. A man from Cloverdale was arrested on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run as well as for driving under the influence. The 41-year-old was caught and arrested by the California Highway Patrol as he fled from the scene near Rohnert Park on the freeway shortly after the crash. The collision happened at around 4:30pm near to Spencer Avenue, says the CHP. A 2001 Isuzu Rodeo veered into another lane and hit the back of a 1998 Toyota Camry driven by a 61-year-old woman from San Francisco. The woman’s vehicle crashed into the the center divider due to the impact.
According to news reports, the Isuzu driver fled prior to medics showing up to deliver the Camry driver to the hospital in order to treat minor injuries. Officers found the suspect near the Rohnert Park offramp and arrested him immediately. He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Marin Superior Court on Tuesday. As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I am glad no one was hurt more severely and I hope the driver of the Camry heals as soon as possible.
