According to recent news sources covering recall news, Coachmen RV has issued a recall recently for all units of Mirada and Encounter Recreational Vehicles that were manufactured between 2011 and 2012.
The company has stated in a recent announcement that has been reproduced in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website that these recalled vehicles have an issue with the gear shifter cable that could lead to the cable breaking, which could fracture the indicator leading the display to show a gear shift that is different from the one chosen by the driver.
This issue could create a problem for drivers and ultimately lead to an accident. The firm has claimed that about 1,500 units are equipped with these defective gear shifter cables and should be refrained from being used until properly fixed.
Authorized dealers are expected to replace the faulty transmission selector assembly for free.
As an Orange car accident lawyer, I sincerely hope all RV drivers will check their vehicles for the recalled Encounter and Mirada models immediately. If you drive one of these defective models, I encourage you to contact the company at once so no accidents associated with these vehicles are reported in the near future. I’m glad this recall was issued in a timely manner and before any serious injuries occurred as a result of incidents caused by a fractured gear shifter cable.
I encourage you to remember that if you were ever injured in an accident that was caused by a third party, you may want to contact a personal injury lawyer near you to assess your case quickly.
