According to news sources, a 35-year-old woman from Colorado was involved in a terribly unfortunate accident that claimed the lives of five people, including three kids.
The accident report released by the authorities in the state of Colorado has indicated that the woman was driving her SUV at about 100 mph when she went off the road, crashed into two vehicles and continued until it finally stopped after crashing into the front wall of a nearby mattress store.
According to the news, the woman may have experienced a seizure while driving with her two children when the vehicle went out of control. Since she had been instructed by an ER doctor not to drive after her first seizure episode years back, the woman reportedly contacted her own doctor, who claimed he wasn’t sure that the medical emergency she suffered had been caused by a seizure.
At this moment, jurors are deciding whether the Colorado woman ignored the advice she received from doctors and whether she is to blame for the five counts of negligent homicide and two counts of child abuse she is now facing.
In light of this terribly heartbreaking news, I urge you as a driver to never ignore the importance of heeding your doctor’s medical advice. Ensure you’re always safe to operate a vehicle and never jeopardize your life or the lives of others by driving when you could experience a medical condition that could render your attention and your motor skills unreliable.
