West Marine Products Inc. is recalling certain folding deck chairs over possible collapse hazards. According to the recall announcement recently issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, these folding chairs were manufactured with supports that do not support the weight capacity declared in the product’s label.
According to several news articles mentioning this recall announcement, the recall was deemed necessary after the company received over five incident reports involving this product including accounts that the chairs collapsed unexpectedly. Although no injuries have been reported in association with these products, the company along the federal agency responsible for overlooking consumer safety decided to recall all units of these chairs.
The products listed in this recall campaign can be identified by the model/SKU number “13110341” that consumers can find in a coated paper tag attached to the product’s frame.
All recalled items were sold across the country between February 2012 and Mary 2012. Consumers are promptly advised they must stop using these chairs and contact the manufacturer to have your recalled folding chair returned to West Marine for a full refund. Users could also choose to receive store credit for future purchases in return.
Any personal injury lawyer can tell you that ignoring recall announcements related to a consumer product you own and us regularly could pose a serious risk to you and your loved ones so act fast. Do not wait until you’re harmed to act.
