According to a series of news articles, Ford has recently decided to issue a recall alert related to all units of 2013 Lincoln MKT and Town Car vehicles.
The official recall announcement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has indicated that these vehicles were equipped with a package that is designed for a limousine or hearse preparation and rear brake rotor bolts that may have not been properly seated during assembly. According to the federal agency, this issue could cause the head to protrude above the mounting surface of the wheel. This issue could cause the bolt to become loose while the vehicle is in use and the wheel could become separated from its joint and a crash could occur.
To lower the risk of an accident, the carmaker Ford has decided to issue this recall promptly along the federal agency so all recalled vehicle owners are warned they must contact an authorized dealer to have their cars fixed promptly. Recalled vehicles were manufactured between March 6th, 2012 and April 3rd, 2012.
Authorized dealers with a remaining inventory of the recalled car models available for purchase are promptly quarantining the defective items and should have all recalled units repaired before delivery to new owners.
If you have one of these vehicles and are unsure of how to react regarding this recall announcement, address any concern or inquiries to the manufacturer at once. All recall announcements should be responded quickly to avoid any incidents or injuries.
