Media sources state that the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was killed when their car crashed on Highway 41 in southern Fresno Wednesday morning.
A report from the California Highway Patrol stated that the accident occurred around 11am Wednesday morning on Highway 41 at Harlan Avenue in Riverdale. Witnesses reported the driver of the Jeep Wrangler speeding excessively and weaving through traffic to pass other vehicles. The CHP investigation found that the Jeep struck several other vehicles, throwing the driver from the vehicle. According to CHP Officials, the driver was not wearing a safety belt.
Drivers and passengers of the vehicles that were struck by the Jeep reported minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Both sides of Highway 41 were closed for about an hour while crews worked to clear the wreckage and clean the highway.
