An accident that happened last Monday led to an arrest in Lake County, according to several local news sources.
The official release issued by the California Highway Patrol shows that a 21-year-old man from Nice was driving on the eastbound lanes of the Highway 175 when the vehicle suddenly drifted off and crossed the double-yellow line at the same time a 1998 Dodge flatbed pickup was traveling on the westbound lanes. Both vehicles crashed head-on. An occupant in the passenger vehicle was sent to the hospital while the driver was taken into police custody for reportedly driving under the influence.
The Dodge driver wasn’t injured as a result of this crash.
Further details regarding this crash were not disclosed. The California Highway Patrol is now investigating this case.
It’s my hope as a San Rafael car accident lawyer that the victim in this unfortunate accident will be able to experience a quick recovery from the wounds he suffered as a result of this collision. I encourage drivers to never get behind the wheel if you have been drinking. I’ve seen similar cases in the past and know of the fatal consequences of certain DUI-related crashes.
Intoxicated driving has proved to be deadly: don’t allow yourself to be the victim of a reckless and irresponsible behavior, don’t drink and drive.
Whenever you or a loved one is injured in an accident that unfortunately was caused by a reckless and intoxicated driver, please consider talking to a personal injury lawyer in your area to ask about the legal options available to your case.
