Two people were injured Monday morning in a car accident on the corner of Road 284 and Highway 190. The California Highway Patrol reported the extent of their injuries aren’t known. The accident happened when a Toyota Camry driving northbound on Road 284 failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 190. The Camry was broadsided by an eastbound Honda Civic. The impact from the crash sent it into a corner light and sign fixture, just barely missing a large propane tank. According to news reports, a nearby resident was awoken by the noise from the collision.
“There were two large booms, I knew it had to be something big,” the local resident said. “I’ve lived here for about 30 years and have seen my share of accidents here. They’re going to continue too, because people come down that hill at 70-miles-an-hour.” The CHP is currently investigating the crash.
