A two year old girl lost her life when she ran into the street on Monday according to a statement given by a Madera County Sheriff. Apparently the young girl ran in front of a speeding truck when the pedestrian accident in Fresno occurred. The Fresno Bee reported that the driver attempted to brake to avoid hitting the girl, yet was unable to stop in time. Many details are unknown surrounding the fatal auto accident, including; where the girl’s parents were and how fast the truck was traveling at the time of the collision.
Paramedics arrived on the scene but were unable to revive the girl, who died on impact. Accident investigators from the California Highway Patrol were called in to recreate the pedestrian accident and find out if the truck driver was at fault. No criminal charges have been brought up and drugs and alcohol are not thought to be involved.
It is a tragedy anytime that children, who are our youngest and most vulnerable citizens become victims of an auto accident in Fresno. As a Fresno personal injury lawyer in my thoughts are with the child’s family. Pedestrian accidents in Fresno happen far too often and often result in serious injuries or even a wrongful death. If you or a loved one were injured in a traffic collision, it is best to contact a qualified car accident lawyer right away.
