Major injuries have been reported as a result of a crash that took place on Interstate 5, according to multiple local news agencies.
According to the articles mentioning this accident, a man from Sacramento was driving his 2003 Toyota Pickup truck on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 when he allowed his vehicle to drift off his lane and into the center divider for reasons that are still unknown to the media.
According to the troopers from the California Highway Patrol who responded to the crash scene, the crash happened when the driver suddenly lost grip of the wheel, which prompted the vehicle to overturn, rollover and finally rest on its side in the southbound lanes.
Officers closed the interstate after the crash for further investigation. Details regarding the man’s injuries or his current health state were not revealed. It is known, however, that the road was closed for at least 90 minutes after the accident.
At this moment, the California Highway Patrol is investigating this crash and should have more details regarding this occurrence in the future.
I encourage other drivers to keep it in mind that reckless behaviors could cause serious accidents. Stay focused and never allow inattention to take your focus away from the road ahead. In my line of work I’ve seen several accidents caused by distracted drivers that turned out to have tragic consequences.
