An early morning big rig truck crash shut down a portion of the 5 freeway in Los Angeles. Two 18 wheelers collided on the southbound side of the Golden State (5) Freeway at Alameda Avenue. According to the LA Daily News, the force of the truck crash caused one of the big rigs to overturn, blocking all of the freeway lanes.
The traditionally busy section of the stretch of Los Angeles highway was closed for nearly 4 hours. CalTrans road crews were called in to move the truck wrecks from lanes and clean up debris scattered across lanes from the crash. There were no accident injuries reported from the collision.
As a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles I urge truck drivers to be vigilante when traveling through urban areas with a high volume of traffic. Truck accidents often cause large amounts of property damage and have the ability to inflict serious injuries on motorists involved in a collision. If you or a loved one were injured in a trucking crash, speak with a personal injury lawyer to discuss your legal options.
