A 42-year-old man from Perris was killed when his car smashed into a boulder in Mead Valley. He was fleeing from a hit-and-run accident involving another car which resulted in an injury, says California Highway Patrol. The Riverside County Coroner’s office announced the driver to be dead around 8pm at the scene of the accident on Cajalco Road. The man from Perris was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado when he fled after rear-ending with a car on westbound Cajalco Road, near Alexander Street in Mead Valley. While fleeing from the scene of the accident, the driver made a right-turn, hitting a natural rock formation head-on.
According to news reports, he driver was extracted from his vehicle by Calfire, and later announced dead due to his major injuries.
