On Thursday a 58 year-old man was struck by a car and killed while crossing the street. The victim has not been identified yet, but it’s been released that he was crossing Avenue 416 when he was struck, at 3:15 a.m., by a Ford Taurus (being driven by Felipe Rodriguez.)
It’s truly unfortunately when an accident like this happens. Many of these incidents could have been avoided. If you find yourself needing to go out during the night it’s important to remember to dress in bright colors and carry a flashlight if possible.
I’ve seen many people out during the evening (or late at night) and they are wearing a dark blue jacket or even black clothes and they are virtually invisible. (as a car accident lawyer in Los Angeles we are not saying this was the cause of this accident, just offering a few pieces of advice that you can use to help prevent this from happening to you.)
If you’re going to be driving in the wee hours of the morning it’s important that you exercise extreme caution. You might not be able to see the pedestrian, up ahead, until it’s too late. So make sure to pay attention to the road and avoid any distractions that may pull your focus from the task at hand. This should help you avoid a horrible pedestrian accident.
