A 60-year-old was driving northbound in a Toyota Corolla on Greenridge Drive in El Sobrante when his car was broadsided. The collision happened around 6am, when the driver pulled into traffic into the past of an eastbound Honda Accord, for reasons under investigation. The Accord hit the driver’s side of the Corolla and killed the man instantly traveling about 35mph. The 23-year-old Accord driver was not hurt, nor was his passenger.
According to news reports, the Corolla driver was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. Fog and other visibility issues have been ruled out as factors in the collision. Drugs and alcohol also do not appear to have been an influence in this car collision. The California Highway Patrol investigated the crash scene, slowing traffic for about two hours. As a Riverside car accident lawyer, my deepest sympathies are with the family, and I hope investigators uncover a specific explanation for the collision. If you or a loved one are injured due to a negligent driver, consult with a personal injury lawyer Riverside who can evaluate your case.
