An accident that happened last Sunday morning left a Clearlake Oaks resident severely injured, according to several local news agencies.
The official accident report issued by the California Highway Patrol has revealed that the 40-year-old man was driving his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the northbound lanes of the Sulphur Bank Road when he suddenly failed to negotiate a curve just south of Highway 20. The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. when the Jeep drove off the road and plunged down the embankment. According to the troopers responding to the accident scene, the vehicle hit a tree before coming to rest on the driver’s side. The California Highway Patrol believes that speeding may have played an important role in this crash but the accident is still under investigation.
According to one account, the driver was rushed to the hospital as soon as emergency crews freed the driver from the wrecked vehicle.
No further details were immediately available.
As an Oakland personal injury lawyer, I sincerely hope that the victim in this crash is experiencing a fast and full recovery from all the wounds he may have sustained. I urge drivers in the state to stay focused on the road ahead and to never drive above the speed limit. Following traffic regulations can save your life and prevent others from being injured in any crashes. Keep it in mind that you should always slow down while negotiating curves.
