According to news sources, a man died in an accident Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the Ventura (134) Freeway.
The man was reportedly in his 30′s or 40′s, yet authorities have yet to release his identity pending the notification of his next of kin. The man had reportedly just crossed the eastbound lanes and was just about to cross the westbound lanes when the accident took place, the California Highway Patrol said.
The man was reportedly struck by several cars on the roadway. He reportedly died at the scene of the crash.
The CHP closed off the westbound lanes for about an hour until the scene was cleared. It has yet to be determined why the man was crossing the freeway to begin with and the CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
