In Lake Forest, Orange County, a California mom took to desperate measures to protect her family from an aggressive dog that threatened the lives of her children. Early yesterday morning, two young girls, age 3 and 6, played in the driveway in front of their home when a dog attacked the 6 year old out of nowhere. Witness accounts described the dog as either a boxer or pitbull.
Upon hearing the screams of the young girl, the mother and her 14 year old brother rushed to her aid. The dog was relentless with its hold on the young girl. It took a neighbor spraying window cleaner in the dog’s eyes and the brother punching it repeatedly before the dog would release it’s clench.
The panicked mother quickly ushered her children towards their front door when the dog attacked the leg of the one-year-old son. This is when adrenaline really kicked in and the mother decided to take matters into her own hands. After shoving her children in the house, she grabbed her pistol and headed back outside. The dog still wouldn’t leave their front year and so the woman shot it in the neck.
The 6-year old girl immediately received medical attention from paramedics and her family physician for the seven dog bites she sustained on her arms, legs, and face. The dog survived and is currently receiving care at a veterinary hospital. An owner for the dog has not yest been located.
