A 50-year-old motorcyclist from Rexburg, Idaho crashed near Mesquite in the desert. He lost control while riding on the road which acts as a direct path to a water tank, located on the Lincoln County side of the county line. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The crash was called in around 4:30pm by the Nevada Highway Patrol, and did not happen far from the Mesquite landfill. Sheriff deputies arrived at the scene of the crash at 7:10pm. It was determined that he was killed from blunt force trauma to his chest.
According to news reports, the Idaho motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and protection for his chest at the time of the collision.
