A motorcyclist traveling near Woodside has been killed after his motorcycle crashed into a tree, according to news sources.
The man was riding his motorcycle on Kings Mountain Road, just north of Huddart County Park when he reportedly crashed into a tree, according to California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said that the man was reportedly speeding before he attempted to slow down, leading to him losing control of his motorcycle, veering off the roadway and then subsequently colliding with the tree.
The man and his motorcycle were both launched into the air after traveling up a sloped shoulder. At that point the motorcycle made impact with the tree.
The man was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway, the CHP said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries in the crash.
