A motorist lost his life in an auto accident on the 134 freeway during the early morning hours. According to news reports, the California Highway Patrol was investigating a fatal accident Tuesday morning on the 134 Freeway in Burbank that closed three westbound lanes. Witnesses reported that the auto accident involved a pedestrian that may have been walking on the highway. The man was killed by the vehicle that struck him at high speeds.
Authorities declared the pedestrian dead at the crash scene. CHP officers are unsure what the man was doing walking on the freeway and closed a portion of the freeway in order to investigate. Three lanes on the highway were closed, causing traffic to back up for miles. More information is expected to be released by the CHP in the coming hours.
I urge motorists to always expect the unexpected while behind the wheel. Pedestrians should never use the freeway system as a walkway or hiking path as it is extremely dangerous. If you or a loved one were hurt in an auto collision, speak to a personal injury lawyer to discuss your legal options.
