A Navy officer lost his life in a major auto accident in San Diego on the 15 Freeway. According to news reports, the driver of the Jeep veered to the right and lost control of his vehicle, smashing into the driver’s side of a Honda Civic. The Jeep proceeded to hit the rear end of a Cadillac De Ville which pushed the Cadillac forward and into a Toyota Corolla. The Jeep then overturned and ended up resting upside down on top of the Cadillac.
Paramedics rushed to the scene to attend to the injured crash victims but were unable to save the sailor’s life. Authorities pronounced him dead at the accident scene. CHP officers closed a portion of the highway in order to help the accident victims and investigate the crash to determine the cause of the crash. CalTrans clean-up crews towed the wrecked auto away and cleared lanes to allow traffic to flow freely again.
As a San Diego personal injury lawyer I urge motorists to always pay attention to the task at hand and stay focused on the road in front of them. Distracted driving can be extremely dangerous and lead to a serious auto collision taking place. If you or a loved one were hurt in a car accident, speak with a personal injury lawyer to discuss your legal options.
