Three motorists lost their lives in a tragic
Newport Beach car crash on PCH highway over the weekend. CHP officers reported that the nightmarish multi-vehicle car crash was caused by the driver of a Ford Taurus who was thought to be speeding. Apparently the driver veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a Toyota Prius, setting off the chain reaction auto accident. The severity of the crash sent two vehicles flying into the air and two more to overturn on the scenic stretch of highway.
Sign On San Diego News reported that 10 vehicles were involved in the multi car accident, with several crash victims suffering serious injuries.
Emergency services closed the section of Pacific Coast Highway for over 10 hours. Paramedics and firefighter rushed to the accident scene to free trapped auto accident victims from their vehicles and tend to the injured. Police officers and an accident investigation unit were tasked with collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and recreating the events that led to one of the most serious car crashes in Orange County history.
