According to news sources, a man died and another was seriously injured when their car crashed into a bridge in Piru after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and sent it veering off the roadway.
The accident took place in Piru on Pacific Avenue just north of State Route 126 when the 50-year-old male driver of the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck lost control and reportedly exited the roadway and crashed into a drainage ditch before colliding into a bridge, the California Highway Patrol said.
A 19-year-old male passenger was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash and was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia for treatment of moderate injuries.
The CHP has said that alcohol may have been a factor. Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seat belts at the time.
