In accordance with the news and several official announcements from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, due to the potential of overheating the battery separators that could lead to smoke and probably fire, the Altec Digger Derrick trucks manufactured by Altec Industries Inc., have been recalled for free replacement of the separator diaphragms.
These utility trucks have been manufactured between 2008 till 2011 and are fully equipped with Sure Power battery separator systems. The recalled vehicles carry battery separator systems models 1314 or 1315. Specific details if required may be found from Altec or NHTSA.
As a San Bernardino car accident lawyer, I’m glad that nobody was injured as a result of an accident caused by these recalled vehicles. I urge consumers to fix this problem as soon as possible to prevent the vehicle from bursting into flames, possibly causing personal injuries or other fatal consequences.
I’ve witnessed many severe cases of accidents caused by faulty vehicles so I’m familiar with the consequences. Do not hesitate and respond to this recall as quickly as possible.
