According to a series of articles, an accident that took place on the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 80 shut down the freeway for about 12 hours.
The crash occurred when a big rig hauling two trailers overturned for unknown reasons. Because the vehicle blocked the road, the authorities closed the interstate until the crash scene was cleared.
According to the news, the truck was carrying nitric acid, which led the authorities to call a hazardous materials crew to verify if the crash could pose a hazard to the public
No safety issues were reported.
