According to news sources, a parolee led authorities on a dangerous car chase Friday afternoon in Oakland that led to two vehicle collisions and the carjacking of a vehicle before police arrested the man.
The suspect was driving a vehicle in the area around Grand Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard when authorities reportedly attempted to pull him over. As the suspect proceeded to speed off, police followed in what fast became a dangerous high speed pursuit.
There were reports of two vehicle collisions and the carjacking of an SUV before the man was apprehended by authorities. The man was reportedly injured in the chase and was taken to an area hospital for treatment by ambulance.
The car jacked vehicle was reportedly left on Interstate 580 against a lamppost.
The incident is still under investigation. The man was reportedly already wanted for several outstanding warrants.
