A pedestrian ran into the path of a pickup truck on Jamacha Boulevard near Grand Avenue in Spring Valley. The 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck driver, a 71-year-old from Spring Valley, hit the unidentified pedestrian, said a California Highway Patrol officer. The collision occurred when the pickup driver was going east on Jamacha around 5:40pm and slowed to stop for a red light. Before the driver stopped for the red light, it turned green and the driver accelerated to drive through it. Around 20 feet on the other side of the green light, an adult male dress in black clothing ran into the road, said a witness to the CHP.
The driver swerved immediately to avoid hitting the man, however he could not do so and hit the pedestrian, propelling him upward, where he landed on Jamacha approximately 86 feet from the intersection. The male victim was brought to a hospital immediately and treated for massive internal injuries along with a injured pelvis. The CHP said that alcohol could have factored into the collision. I am glad the pedestrian was not hurt more severely and I hope he is identified soon by authorities. If you or a loved one were hurt in a similar pedestrian accident, it is best to have a knowledgeable personal injury attorney in Los Angeles to help with your case.
