A van struck a 60-year-old pedestrian Tuesday night when he walked into lanes of traffic between Oxnard and Camarillo. The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a man staggering into the road on Central Avenue at Santa Clara Avenue. They were responding to an eye-witness report that a van hit somebody walking in the road. After the pedestrian walked into traffic, he was hit by a 61-year-old driver from Woodland Hills. The driver pulled over immediately after the collision and waited for the CHP to arrive.
According to news reports, the pedestrian was a transient and the impact with the van killed him. The CHP did not release his identity to the public. The van driver is not under suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, nor was he charged or arrested. As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I hope investigations reveal the real cause for why the man stumbled into traffic, and my thoughts are with his family during this time. If you or a loved one are harmed by a reckless incident, you may want to get in touch with a personal injury attorney Los Angeles who can protect your rights.
