Several news sources have revealed in recent articles that Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corporation has recently issued a recall announcement for all units of the 2010 and 2011 Predator, Predator SS, Predator Panther and Predator XL emergency vehicles over potential problems with their Wabco Electronic Stability Control units.
According to the official recall statement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration office, these vehicles were manufactured with Code04AZX Meritor Wabco ESC that could become inoperable under certain road conditions.
According to the firm, these systems could experience the effects of an over steering situation and the slip angle calculation of the electronic stability control could cause the vehicle to roll unexpectedly. In certain situations, the driver could be forced to apply the outer wheel brake on the vehicle’s front axle to prevent crashes. If this incident occurs and the driver is incapable of applying the front axle brakes quickly enough, the vehicle could deviate from the previously intended line of travel and an accident could occur.
The federal agency stated in an official recall announcement that KME is now notifying all recalled vehicle owners so defective ESC modules are entirely replaced for free at authorized dealers. Questions, doubts or concerns related to this specific recall announcement should be addressed to Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corporation right away.
If you own one of these recalled vehicles, I encourage you to act fast to prevent possible accidents in the future.
