News outlets reported that a woman and her unborn baby died after the woman’s vehicle veered off of an onramp to the 134 Freeway Sunday.
According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Chris Powell, the woman was traveling westbound on the 134 Freeway onramp at Victory Boulevard when her light blue Mazda sedan veered off the road to the right and struck a tree.
Sgt. Powell said, “The vehicle struck a tree and (there) was major intrusion of the tree into the driver’s compartment.”
A Glendale resident witnessed the crash and stopped to render aid to the woman. He stated that when he arrived, her vehicle was “literally wrapped around a tree.”
Glendale firefighters removed the car door and the woman was transported to Los Angeles County USC-Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries around 6:15pm Sunday.
CHP Officials are investigating the cause of the accident and have ruled out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors to the crash.
, I’m deeply saddened to hear of this tragic accident. Being a personal injury lawyer, I’ve seen accidents like this one before and I’m just glad that no one else was hurt. My heart goes out to the friends and family members of this woman as they grieve their loss.
