Defective wheelchair lifts manufactured by Braun have been responsible for multiple recalls in the past months according to several news agencies.
According to a recent recall announcement, Collins is now recalling all units of the company’s 2008 and 2010 Grand Bantam, Super Bantam, Mid Bus Grand Guide and Mid Bus Super Guide School buses. The company’s spokesperson has revealed in a recent statement that Braun Centy-2 wheelchair lifting devices have been added to the recalled models of vehicles and since these lifts could experience a failure in maintaining the wheelchair occupant secure, the company has decided to issue this recall.
Although reports of wheelchair occupants riding over the insufficiently latched platform of the Century-2 devices haven’t surfaced, the company has stated that the prevention of incidents and injuries was their number one priority and due to this fact, consumers should be reminded that if they own any of these recalled buses, they must contact the manufacturer as soon as possible.
Recalled vehicle owners are urged to keep their passengers safe from possible future incidents by having any defective wheelchair lift replaced for a new and fully functional device at authorized Braun dealerships.
Inquiries and concerns related to this recall announcement should be addressed to the place of purchase right away.
I sincerely hope that nobody is injured in any way as a result of an accident associated with these recalled models of school buses that could have been prevented. I encourage you and your loved ones to act fast and refrain from ignoring a recall announcement that is related to a product you own. Act fast and stay safe.
