Rechargeable Sets of Batteries Recalled by Nikon

It’s been extensively reported in the media that Nikon recalled rechargeable battery packs that were sold with Digital SLR Cameras due to the fact that there were seven incidents outside of the U.S that involved the battery packs overheating.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises customers that have purchased this product to call Nikon, and request a free battery pack to replace the original. Nikon advises that you should not use this battery pack anymore, and that you should throw the original away unless otherwise instructed. Nikon should be more careful, and do some more trial runs on their original battery packs with more safety tests so that consumers can be safe.
