A motorcycle rider sustained major injuries when he lost control of his bike while riding on the 101 freeway near Petaluma. According to news reports, the motorcyclist lost control near the site of an earlier accident and broke one of his legs when he struck another car. The biker thrown from his motorcycle and fractured his leg in multiple locations when he fell to the ground.
Traffic was backed up for miles as a portion of the highway was closed down to allow emergency responders to attend to the injured biker.
