According to several local news agencies, an 18-year-old woman from Tiburon was involved in an accident that took place on the Highway 101 last Tuesday morning that resulted in an arrest.
Official releases issued by California Highway Patrol officials revealed that the woman was driving a 1993 Lexus ES300 on the northbound of the 101 when she suddenly lost grip of the wheel. The vehicle veered to the center of the road and hit an oncoming car. The impact forced the Lexus to roll several times before it finally stopped after crashing into a concrete center divider.
The California Highway Patrol troopers who responded to the accident that happened near the Seminary Drive exit claim a witness stopped to help get the driver out of the overturned Lexus before the authorities arrived at the scene.
The impact also forced the second vehicle to crash into the guardrail on the Richardson Bay Bridge, which resulted in injuries to the driver. Both victims were sent to the hospital right away for treatment.
Details regarding the causes behind this accident were not immediately available but it has been reported by troopers that the 18-year-old was taken into the custody of the police after she was released from the hospital.
At this moment, the California Highway Patrol is investigating this accident and should have more details available to the media soon.
