According to the early morning news, a recall was announced for the Schwinn Elliptical Exercise Equipment by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission along with the company responsible for the manufacturing of the recalled item.
The reports show that the recalled exercise equipment is distributed by Nautilus Inc. of Vancouver, Washington and has demonstrated malfunctioning issues related to the footplates. According to the news, the plaques can come detached from the rest of the equipment posing a fall hazard to all users.
This Elliptical Exercise Training product was linked to nine reports of accidents including one user who struck his knee after having the footplate detached from the rest of the equipment while on use. A personal injury lawyer in his area could answer this customer’s questions regarding this case.
The USCPSC indicated that about 10,000 units are being recalled due to the reported issue. The product has the name Schwinn 460 and is made of gray anodized aluminum.
As an Orange county personal injury lawyer, I urge owners of this equipment to contact the Nautilus for the free repair kit. According to the company, an extended warranty will be given to all owners of the Elliptical Exercise Training units.
